Frequently asked questions

Roadmap to adventure

Q.     I always thought that the webmaster wanted a visitor to be able to get to the desired information in less than 3 clicks of the mouse?

A.     from the home page, a click takes the visitor to the site map. (Roadmap to Adventure) Here you have choices that you have in no  other website.  You have choices of fishing or travel, you have other choices.  From there you may be looking at sub-sites.  An example will be Missouri travel.  There you will find fishing information, travel information and individual information about individual towns and cities.  If  you were going through search engines, you would have more time used to find the information scattered through out the web and maybe even having to write or call to get the information we have.

Q.    Do  you use databases and searches?

A.    No.  We use the flat file system.  The volume of information that needs to be entered and updated and kept current could easily be lost in a database.  A misspelling will lead to problems in a data base.  In the searches, you can see what information we have.  We use indexes in each of our political subdivisions so you can read exactly what we  have for that subdivision.

Q.    Is the site a secured site?

A.     No, we do not market anything on the site.  We do not book airline flights or book rooms at hotels like other travel sites do.  We are an information site.

Q.    Why do you not have a shortcut to the City Directories?

A.    We do, we upgraded out site to include a shortcut.  It takes you to a long scroll that allows you to see all the states city directories and will allow you to enter each state from there.  (Updated 02-16-06)
